R42 Range Rules

Gun Range Rules

1. Waiver:

  • Every shooter, guardian, or observer must sign our waiver. The waiver covers all of our shooting ranges.
  • Membership holders must ensure all family members and guests are familiar with and agree to abide by these Safety Rules.

2. Firearm and Equipment Inspection:

  • We reserve the right to inspect all firearms, ammunition, and equipment.

3. Supervision of Minors:

  • Shooters under the age of eighteen must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

4. Ammunition Restrictions:

  • No steel jacketed/core/cased ammunition, solid brass/copper ammunition, armor-piercing, incendiary, explosive, or tracer ammunition is allowed.
  • Permitted shotgun ammunition is 00 Buck and birdshot. No slugs.

5. Protective Gear:

  • Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times. Sunglasses are not permitted as eye protection in the indoor range.

6. Firearm Handling:

  • Firearms are to remain at the stalls at all times unless cased or holstered.
  • Loaded firearms are not permitted outside the range unless holstered or secured in a case/bag.

7. Novice Shooters:

  • If you are a novice shooter, it is your responsibility to inform a range employee for your safety and that of others.

8. Firearm Status While Not in Use:

  • All firearms should be empty, made safe, pointed downrange, and with the action open when not in use.

9. Firearm Malfunctions:

  • If your firearm malfunctions, leave it in the stall pointing downrange and inform the Range Officer/ Range Personnel.

10. Target Shooting:

  • Do not shoot any target downrange except for the one directly in front of you at your assigned stall.

11. Stall Occupancy:

  • A maximum of three people are allowed inside a stall at one time.

12. Shooting Line Safety:

  • Do not cross the shooting line under any circumstances. If something falls in front of the line, ask the Range Officer/ Range Personnel for assistance.

13. Cease-Fire Protocol:

  • In the event of a cease-fire, open the action, set your firearm down in the stall, pointing downrange, and step back from the stall.

14. Range Time:

  • Range time is rented in sixty (30) minute increments. Overage is billed in thirty (10) minute increments. It is your responsibility to monitor your time.

15. Drawing from the Holster:

  • No drawing from the holster. Shooters are responsible for any damage caused by negligence.

16. Rapid Fire:

  • No rapid fire. Maintain at least one second between shots. Rapid fire is discouraged as it serves no tactical purpose and is disrespectful to others.

17. Head Shots:

  • No head shots allowed. You will be responsible for any damage to the target carrier. Fees apply for damage ($25 for each carrier hit and $40 for shooting down a carrier cable).

18. Firearm Rentals and Ammunition:

  • If you wish to rent a firearm, you must use our ammunition.
  • You are welcome to bring your own ammunition. All ammo must be in the manufacturer’s box.

19. Cleanliness:

  • Please clean up after yourself and enjoy your time at our range.
